THE NEW YORK TIMES:
THE WALL STREET JOURNAL:
CNN:
A look at how the media cover January 8, which is apparently January 6 in Portuguese. The New York Times makes it perfectly clear that anyone backing Bolsonaro is a fool and a crook—Protestors entered the capitol “in response to what they falsely believe was a rigged election.” In addition, the purported loser of the election, Bolsonaro, is “believed to be holed up in Florida." Please find me a reference to a non-criminal as “holed up” somewhere.
The Wall Street Journal simply says “Supporters of Bolsonaro storm Brazil’s Congress.” Even CNN says “Bolsonaro supporters storm Brazilian Congress.” These are statements of what actually happened. No one will argue with it, but in saying the protestors did it “in response to what was falsely believed to be a rigged election,” you’re telling readers what to think and how to think. Which is what liberals do.
Hey, New York Times—how many non-rigged elections have there been in South America in the past century? Don’t you think there’s a tiny chance this election was rigged? Even if they did think so, the Times couldn’t allow it for the reason that it might start Americans thinking about other possible rigged elections—like 2020 and 2022. Can’t have that.
Fox News, again just describing what happened:
